Unleashed Education held a free challenge, Grid Games, recently.
I was lucky that at a recent session, that was held during the time period of the competition, I could use one of the images taken.
The brief for Grid games "this is all about using the rule of thirds" making the composition mostly in camera with little cropping on editing.
Two classes, new comers (for those that had never partaken in a previous Unleashed challenge before) and Veteran (those that had taken part in challenges). Having done Embark and Emerge challenges through Unleashed Education, we were in the Veteran class with 71 other amazing photographers. Congratulations to all who submitted images and those who placed in both categories.
We are absolutely stoked to come away with a Top 10 placing!

Six months of stress, ends with 12 completed submissions for my final portfolio for the Unleashed Emerge Challenge!
I had to re-submit some images for a variety of reasons, sometimes your feedback allows for simple re-edits and a re-submit, others it is more difficult and a totally new image is required. You don't get feedback on the re-submitted images but you hope they meet the brief better than the original ones you submitted.
As I have said before, it has been a long haul to get to the finish line and I am very proud that I made it to the end.
Congratulations to all the individual winners and place getters in our class and those with highly commended portfolios, simply outstanding work and well deserved.
Due to personal reasons I wont be there for the final course, Empower, next year, but hope to complete it in a couple of years time.
Thank you to everyone that has helped over the past two years. Your encouragement, friendship and lovely models has meant more than you will ever know, cheers ☺

The final four submissions for the Unleashed Emerge challenge.
A bitter sweet moment, as although I have found this year very difficult, for a number of reasons, I have pushed myself and am very pleased to finish all the challenges and re-submit where necessary.
Thank you to everyone that has supported me through this journey, lots of new friendships made, humans and fabulous dogs!

So here are the submissions for the last 4 challenges:

Double Trouble: two pets captured in one portrait
Mirror Image: create an image that includes a reflection of the subject
Bokehlicious: Create a well-lit pet photo with bokeh present in the out-of-focus areas of the image
Shake: capture a pet shaking off water
