Hi, I’m Kristy.

I genuinely just love being around weddings. The people, the atmosphere, the little moments happening in the background while everybody’s busy actually living the day.

So most of the time I’m just quietly wandering around with cameras hanging off me, documenting things as they naturally unfold. Nothing too stiff or overdone. Just your day as it felt.

I’ve never really wanted weddings to feel like one long photoshoot. I’d rather you actually enjoy yourselves while I notice the weird little in-between moments you didn’t even realise were happening at the time.

Also yes, the floral Doc Marten’s are always involved 😎🌸

It’s always so hard to pic my favs from a wedding album of 400+ 😵‍💫🤪 Plus, y’all know I’d just choose ALL the black and white if I could 🤣 But, I try to add some colour on here too, for you. I just love the photos with all the emotions of the day, I can’t help it. They just give me all the feels.

This is what it looks like when I’m photographing a wedding.

A lot of bending, leaning, crouching, disappearing into corners I probably shouldn’t fit in, sometimes trying to stay invisible, while also being everywhere at once.

People see the final photos and think it’s about angles or gear or luck. It’s not really. It’s reading a room fast enough to know when to move… and when to vanish. It’s having eyes in the back of your head so you never miss a photo opportunity.

I was lucky to have my bestie of sooooo many years (we’ve been friends since we were 5!) helping me out in Australia last weekend. She snapped some rare behind the scenes footage of my awesome photography face 🤣 Somehow, she looks way less feral than I do 🤣

When I sent Nardia & Jayden these sneak peek wedding pics, Nardia said…

“You made everyone feel so relaxed and actually made photos enjoyable!!!”.

It’s little comments like that, that just make my heart sing.

I’ve always been sensitive to vibes. Not in a cute, whimsical way … more in a “feel everything in the room whether I want to or not” kind of way. It’s been a lot, at times. But at a wedding… it’s actually useful. Because underneath all the nerves, the timelines, the “what am I meant to look like in a wedding photo?”, there you are. The real you. The way you are together when you forget anyone’s watching.

I can see it pretty quickly. The dynamic, the softness, the inside jokes, the way you reach for each other without thinking. And, I don’t drag it out of you or turn it into a performance. I just kind of… make space for it.

A little direction here, a shift there, maybe a dumb comment to break the tension (soooo many dumb comments 🤣) and suddenly you’re not posing anymore. You’re just being.

That’s the part I’m interested in. Not the “perfect” version. The honest one. The connection that already exists, just without all the pressure sitting on top of it.

If you’ve ever worried you won’t know what to do in photos… you don’t need to. You just need to show up as you are.

I’ll see you. Promise.
