STEALTH LIGHTNING at Ohakea - 8/9/2026
A trip to RNZAF Base Ohakea to catch the arrival of two Royal Australian Air Force Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II Stealth Fighters from RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW, Australia as 'Aussie1240'/ASY1240 (Flight of Two).
The two F-35's are A35-003 and A35-022, just two of the fleet of seventy two F-35's the RAAF have.
The aircraft were escorted and refuelled part way across the the Tasman by RAAF Airbus A330MRTT (KC-30) A39-006 as Aussie758/ASY758.
After landing the two F-35's taxied to the beginning of runway 33 at Ohakea for the FARP (Forward Arming and Refuelling Point) part of Exercise Agile Tasman, with the RAAF Lockheed C-130J-30 Super Hercules A97-468 which arrived Monday evening as 'Aussie742'/ASY742 from RAAF Base Richmond.
