Celebrating Principal Wiri Warriner

Today, Orewa College marked Principals’ Day, Te Rā o Tumeke Tumuaki, an opportunity to recognise the leadership, care and commitment of school principals across Aotearoa.

Principal Wiri Warriner returned to Orewa College as an alumnus when he began leading our kura in 2024. His career in education began at Massey High School as a Physical Education teacher, followed by roles in pastoral care and school leadership. He later served as Deputy Principal at Whangaparāoa College.

Even on Principal’s day, Wiri gathered staff for a morning tea in recognition of our support staff. (A Principal’s shout!)

Thank you, Wiri, for your leadership, your belief in our young people and your commitment to helping Orewa College continue to grow.

A new chapter begins.

The Dave Rennie era got underway as the All Blacks opened the inaugural 2026 Nations Championship against France at One New Zealand Stadium in Christchurch. A packed crowd, a new home, and a classic Test match atmosphere made for a memorable night behind the lens.
