Here's the truth - in your session, its your rules. You get to choose whatever you are comfortable with x

Pregnancy can feel beautiful one moment and incredibly vulnerable the next... especially when you’re stepping in front of a camera.

But I promise you, if you do choose to show a little skin - its not about having the perfect body... (what even is that anyway...?)

It’s about capturing this season exactly as you are xx

Growing, Powerful, Soft, Emotional and spectacularly beautiful in every way.

But remember - my job is never to make you feel exposed.

It’s to make you feel safe, confident and seen 🤍 whatever way you would like xx

Sometimes you meet people and you just click ✨️ this beautiful woman was one of them!

We met at the wild and rugged rock face, and she wore the raven black dress that fits so well with this this location xx

Honestly, this wasn't just about documenting a pregnancy...

It was documenting the beautiful moments of this season.....

The way she cuddles her big baby, the way her husband holds her hand and they way they all laugh together ❤️

Standing on the edge of something new, while celebrating the right now of the old x

Each season of life carries its own energy ✨️

It was an absolute honor to capture this one for them xx

I love all my photo sessions. Seriously I do.

But this one has to be one of the best.

I got to photograph one of the most beautiful couples I know - and have known for a very long time- at the beautiful Ocean Beach the other week.

A couples session. To celebrate them together. Their life and love - filling a bucket list of things after a cancer diagnosis that has left us all reeling....

These guys are seriously such incredible people, their strength and love for each other is something else. So during the shoot I naturally asked about their love story, living in those memories but also making more ❤️

Part of that story was their wedding, which they released monarch butterflies - and they brought some to our shoot too! Never before have I photographed butterflies like this ✨️🦋

We released them, and some flew away and hung around for so long afterwards just perching on a shoulder or hand before flying away.

Thank you for the privilege you two, loved making these memories with you ❤️✨️

Here's proof that newborns are basically tiny yoga instructors who didn’t sign up for their class in time lol 😆

Love catching these photos of little ones just waking up, - big stretches of those chubby wee arms!

These are the wee moments that go so fast, before you even have a chance to grab the camera! So in my sessions, I have the camera ready at the right time to catch those fleeting moments :) (a fast shutter speed helps too!!!)

An outdoor newborn session with all her whanau around her ✨️

So lovely to have grandparents included in a newborn session- and even more special being outside on a beach that has been in their lives for a long time - waimarama ♥️

This little one was wrapped up warm, and both beautiful ladies wore a dress from my wardrobe x

Here's what they said after they got their photos back:

'Thank you so much Katherine for our beautiful photos! We love how stress free our session was, especially with our 4-week old baby girl. We couldn't help ourselves and had to buy all the photos because it was too hard to choose! We will treasure these photos forever!'
