Spent some time recently putting a bit of love into one of my older cameras, a Mamiya 7. Turns out all that was needed was a new battery.

I've owned this camera since 1998 (and cost me $11000 incl lenses & camera at the time). The Mamiya 7 is one of the best film cameras ever used and what I initially started using for my business at the time (alongside a Nikon camera).

The Mamiya 7 is a medium format rangefinder that shoots huge 6x7cm negatives, and the image quality is equivalent to around 50 megapixels. It has a flash sync shutter speed of 500th/sec. A shutter speed simply unobtainable on any modern DSLR camera.

It's remarkably lightweight, with insanely sharp Mamiya lenses, super quiet shutter, and built for serious photographers who want the look and depth of film without the bulk. It remains unmatched for travel, commercial, portraits, and landscapes. An absolute true classic. Not to mention currently a HOT collectors item for many 📸 and worth much more than I paid for it (not to mention my 2 lenses). Funny enough, I recently received an offer to buy a special edition version Mamiya at the humble price of $750K USD 😳. It's a shame I don't need another one 😉

Some current photographers weren't even born yet when this camera came out. Would they know how to shoot on film? Lot more pressure on the photographer taking photos back then, than now 😄

After a busy week it was nice to have the weekend off to work on the new chicken run for our new lot of chickens.

Maybe you can understand how it feels getting a little cut and having trouble stopping the bleeding... 🙄🤪

Was good to get the run sorted nonetheless. Inge even helped screw in some screws, kneeling down beside it 😉 (definitely not a tradie 😃).

Back to 📸 work now.

Today I went for my 1st swim since my (cardiac) arrest 💔 I took it easy (definitely not in competitive mode 😉🙄) but it felt good and I felt good! Slowly but surely getting back into fitnessy things again.

Thanks Inge for coming with me.. And keeping a little eye on me 🥰
