Born in a small beach town in the Eastern Bay of Plenty of New Zealand, it is here that I learned to love music, water, and all the things outdoors. I have always found humans fascinating, I love to observe the way people interact with their surroundings. The moments that protrude genuine true connections, affection, love, and laughter, is what I gravitate towards. But I also understand that life can be hard, and unkind, and by no means is an easy ride. My openness to appreciate and experience the variety of what life has to offer is what helped mould me into the person I am today.

This Father’s Day feels a little different for me. I lost my own dad on 5 December, and it’s been 273 days of learning how grief and love can sit side by side.

It’s reminded me how important it is to capture the moments we still have — the ordinary ones, the silly ones, the ones we’ll look back on one day and be grateful for.

So this year, I want to give something meaningful back.

I’m giving away one free family photoshoot to celebrate Father’s Day - a chance to capture the connection, the chaos, the hugs, the laughter, and everything in between.

Lately I’ve been feeling a little adrift here, not in a dramatic way, just in that quiet, familiar way where something doesn’t sit quite right.

I love creating. I love the way light falls on ordinary moments, the way a photograph can feel like a breath you didn’t know you needed. Sharing that has always felt natural to me, almost like a conversation without words.

But the rhythm of social media… it doesn’t match the rhythm of my life.

I’m not someone who wants to chase trends or turn every moment into content. I don’t want to spend hours making reels or narrating my day. That’s never been how I connect.

And when I don’t do those things, I sometimes feel myself slipping to the edges … like I’m here, but not quite in it. It’s a strange feeling, being both present and disconnected at the same time.

So I’m trying to find a softer middle ground. A way to show up without losing the parts of myself that feel steady and true. A way to share what I love without forcing it into shapes that don’t fit me.

If you’ve been feeling this too, consider this a small nod from me to you … a reminder that we’re allowed to move slowly, to choose honesty over performance, to find connection in our own way.

I’ve been spending some time refining parts of my business lately, and one thing I realised is that I haven’t been very good at asking for Google reviews - even though they make such a difference for small businesses like mine.
