Armenian community of Auckland, New Zealand is not big. On a third Sunday of the month the families gather for a quiet catch up over coffee and traditional sweet treats. This Easter Monday, however, felt different. The Meadowood hall could barely contain the excited energy as the smallest members of the community put on a special Easter performance - for the very first time. With it came shared laughs, parents bursting with pride and an overall feeling of joy. After a difficult year I sensed a renewed unity and hope.
