Finally got out to shoot a show on Friday night, the first time there's been something for me to shoot in soooo long! And Kendall Elise was just perfect! Apart from the fact that I love her music, she's just great to shoot - so expressive and joyful!
I was a bit worried that I might have lost my touch, I've barely picked up my camera in months... But pretty happy with how these turned out!

Here we go again! I am kind of overwhelmed by all the attention on me from winning this award. Postcards from New Zealand has put together a video presentation of me talking about the photo, but also my photography in general, along with a variety of non-music-related photos I've shot over the years.
I was coming off a horrendous flu when this was shot, but... still, I have to share!

Postcards... Instagram and other social media may have overtaken them as the favourite way to show people where you've been, but there's still something terribly evocative about the word. After a terribly long hiatus, I shot a show at the Civic on Saturday - 'Yulia Performs Edith Piaf à L’Olympia à Paris.' I got goose bumps entering the theatre, a sense of being at home as I strapped on my cameras. I was looking forward to the show - Edith Piaf is one of my favourite artists, so it had to be special :-) Yulia did not disappoint!

A Kiwi original, Delaney Davidson gave and intense and utterly spellbinding performance at The Wine Cellar Thursday night... mysteriously carnival-esque, with touches of voodoo and Gothic mysticism... plus! Marlon Williams showed up for the encore. One of the best shows I've seen all year. And... one of my favourite sets of photos!!!

Lockdown was soooooooooo hard! Everything in my diary was cancelled, my camera was just sitting around, feeling as useless and lazy as me. But shot three sets last night! Felt so good. Most exciting was CINDY at Whammy! Yeah, I usually moan about shooting there. No light, uber-crowded, kinda smelly and the moshers are a danger to my gear... But last night it was kind of euphoric. Nowhere else I'd rather be. And I got some pretty great shots of some incredible performers!
