Welcome to the Porirua Photography Club (formally the Kapiti Camera Club, Porirua). The Porirua Photography Club is home to recreational and semi-professional photographers in Porirua and the surrounding areas. Our members have a wide range of experience and expertise and use the full spectrum of cameras: large and small; film and digital; expensive and basic. We meet on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday of each month, starting at 19.30, in the grounds of historic Gear Homestead, where we entertain guest speakers, hold competitions and have "hands-on" sessions of practical training. We have a dark room with full facilities and an extensive library of photographic titles. Occasional trips are arranged to other parts of the country to find new places of photographic interest. Members are encouraged to participate in the running of the club and visitors are always welcome !! Our doors are open after 7 pm and please join us for a tea/coffee and supper before the formal meeting begins.

A Porirua Photography Club member Mary Livingston and 4 others have just started an exhibition at the Pariwhero Gallery, 174 Owhiro Bay Parade (just before Red Rocks carpark).

"Stone, Sea & Sky – Reflecting on Matariki ✨
Where winter heavens meet ocean depths, we find heart and soul."

It includes themed artwork in photography, silkscreen, painting, jewellery, sculpture

The exhibition runs until 6 September, with the gallery open 12–4 pm on weekends (Saturdays, Sundays) and public holidays. We can also open by appointment-contact is Debbie Rawson cell 02189 5995 or Mary 021380301

Join us! Club meeting Tuesday 3rd March: Guest Speaker: Spencer Chubb

Topic: “Mind over mattress: Essential tips and techniques for better landscape photography”.

Spencer loves spending time in the mountains, road tripping, hiking, camping and photographing. His landscape and wildlife images have received recognition in several major photography competitions including New Zealand Geographic, Australian Geographic, Outdoor Photographer and Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year.

Everyone is welcome -please feel free to join us this Tuesday night 7:30-9pm.
