A few similar shots taken in the southern crater of Mt Tongariro. The serene beauty of this place masks the fact that this is inside the crater of an active volcano, which last erupted only 2 years ago!

So this it what it looks like at the top of an active volcano! This is the red crater at the top of mount Tongariro on the Tongariro crossing. Another part of the mountain was erupting at the time and the air was extremely sulphurous. Oh yeh, and that's Mount Doom off of the Lord Of The Rings in the background!

Moving further north today and Wharariki Beach, right at the top of the South Island. T'was a dark and moody day to be sure but we blew the cobwebs away with a blustery walk on the beach complete with baby seals playing in the shallows!

Here comes another one! This was taken at the edge of the Ho**er Glacier Lake at the base of Mount Cook. An amazing walk down the ho**er valley takes you to this spectacular iceberg filled lake.

Okey dokey, guys. I've got a shed load of stuff to share from the trip, which I'll post over the next few days. We toured from Taupo on the north island to Aoraki/Mount Cook on the south island. Going backwards a little bit here's one from our time around Mount Cook. Probably the most spectacular place in NZ and that's saying something! Ive got a load of stuff to post from here so stay tuned!

Went on a bit of a road trip around NZ recently. Got a bunch of shots to share with you guys so stay tuned!
