Rules to live by down at Manu Bay. 🌊📜

Looking back at the WSL event in Raglan last month! I took so many pictures during the competition, but these two are the ones that really made me smile.

I spotted this security guard keeping the peace and had to ask if I could get a photo of his first belt tag. He was more than happy to oblige! 😂
I thanked him and was just about to walk away to catch the next heat when he stopped me. “Wait”, he said, and flipped it around to show the bright green: “Be kind.”

First time I’ve ever seen a Superman move during the WSL final in Raglan... but then again, I’ve also never seen anybody get bitten by the local sea creatures either.

Corduroy lines all the way to the horizon—can’t wait to see it like this again. 🌊

This is a recent print for the foil boarder in the frame (you’ll have to look closely to spot him!). I was experimenting with exposure and framing that day, intentionally keeping the depth of field tiny to focus just on the first few waves. Ended up with a much more abstract feel compared to the usual stacked blue swell lines.

Dropping TWO 8.50s and losing in the last 3 minutes is brutal... 💔

Cole houshmand was absolutely on one at Manu Bay, sending massive buckets and busting huge airs. He looked completely untouchable with a 17.00 total until pulled off that crazy last-minute buzzer-beater perfect 10. Heavy heat, but Cole was surfing out of his skin! Definitely the heat of the event.
