Some more cool things I made 😎

Linen staple dress - absolute love it!
Used a warehouse dress I like the shape of as a pattern. The ties from the waist around the back are amazing. Definitely will make more of this style when I can find some cheap linen. Wardrobe staple piece.

Top - $5 thick fabric from the op shop. Looks better on. Wish I thought about it more and made the bottom half horizontal stripe not vertical because I was being lazy.

Patch work tote - I wanted something I can take to the farmers market and fill to the top. Its lined with thick curtin block out linening. I don't think it will break open 😅

Some of the thing I made this weekend 🪡
free duffle bag pattern with fabric that cost me a total for $4 from op shops.
Velvet euro cushion covers that match my bedside tables.
Quilted fabric laptop cover with a pocket for the charger of course.
bumbag pattern ($20 on their website) with some Kmart clearance napkins - this was a good trial first timer, cant wait to make more to gift to my cool friends 😎

Apricot seconds are only $2.5/kg at in Alexandra right now and 5kg of them will make you this amount of spicy apricot sauce whipped up in 2 hours after work, recipe from page. This might possibly last me 5 years while making apricot chicken pizza weekly 😅

When life gives you cherries, you spend the next 7 hours de-dipping the bloody things.
But then you make....
Red Cherry Chutney.
Cherry Granola.
White Cherry sauce.
Cherry compote.
Bags and bags of frozen Cherries for the freezer for smoothies and to make red wine cherry sauce for venison dinners, and of course one big ass chocolate cake with cherry compote in the middle to take to work tomorrow 🍒
Very greatful to be given these seconds that could have been thrown away and been able to make some goodness out of them.

~ Learning to sew ~

I'm not exactly sure why I thought sewing would be a good hobby to add to the many I have, especially when I've got "dud" hands. (Nerve pain when they are overworked) but here I am!

My Mother and older sister own a soft furnishings bussniess in Darfield with curtains / blinds / cushions being made flat out in the workroom. But yet, I never learnt to sew growing up.

They decided to upgrade a few machines this year, so I took the opportunity to bring their old well loved overlocker and sewing machine back south with me.

I'm terrible at following instructions along with very poor patience, but hopefully I can whip up a few cool things this summer from mainly thrifted fabric and ideas I find on Instagram!
