With a nice, calm 24-hour weather window on offer, I decided to spend Tuesday night out in the wops at the point of Pleasant Bay up the Milford Road.
Waders on and hiking poles in hand, I worked my way gingerly around the rocky shoreline through knee-deep water, trying not to end the evening with an unexpected swim. The reward was a secluded vantage point with an uninterrupted view of the western sky, where Venus and Jupiter would draw together in conjunction shortly after sunset.
As the surrounding mountains slipped into silhouette, I had the best seat in the house as the two brightest planets in the evening sky shone bright before dipping behind the peaks 🤩
