Me, Cece | on 35mm film 🎞️

Film is where it all began for me!
When I added photography as a minor in college, I enrolled in a film photography class… and the rest is history.

Film taught me intention and patience.
It taught me how to see the world through a lens.

On a roll of film there are only 36 exposures. So no rapid fire, no deleting, no instant replay. Every frame must matter. That discipline shaped me. It forced me to master the light meter, to understand shadows and respect highlights, to fall in love with the dance between living and thriving.

This is me, 30, on film, seeing life through a lens.

This is me with one of my film cameras 📷 (the other is behind the shot 😉), captured by my built-in best friend since birth, my sister.

Film photography isn’t just a style.
It’s a feeling.

Some moments aren’t meant to be forced.
Some choices don’t need explaining.
Some lessons only arrive when you’re brave enough to say yes… and present enough to let things be.

Last year on horseback in New Zealand, I didn’t rush the moment, I listened. I moved when it felt right. I trusted my body, the horse, the energy, the timing. And even when things didn’t go perfectly, they went exactly how they were meant to.

That’s the thing about life (and creativity, and love, and risk):
✨ You don’t always need to push.
✨ You don’t need to hesitate either.
✨ You act when it’s aligned, and you’ll know when.

🔥 February 17th • Fire Horse Energy 🔥
Today we celebrate the Chinese New Year! The Year of the Fire Horse ♨️🐎, and it lands with a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, shaking up 2026 and asking us all: how bold are you really?

Looking back, this reminds me of a horseback riding adventure I did in Wanaka, New Zealand last April. I booked us the intermediate tour bc you were allowed to canter on the horse, BUT when we arrived the guide said we as a group were not skilled enough riders. So I asked if I could go alone with the guide, she saw me ride and said yes. So me & captain, aka my horse, set off for our 5hr tour.
On the way back, my left foot slipped out of the stirrup and I slowly but surely fell right off Captain’s back. A day full of firsts! Babies first time falling off a horse and getting a concussion! Here’s the thing tho… this isn’t a “cautionary tale.” It’s a lesson and a reminder! No risk, no reward! Follow your heart, be courageous, breathe through it, relax, and trust yourself!
I wouldn’t even call this choice a “mistake”! BECAUSE IT WASN’T! It was meant to be! If I hadn’t gone, I’d never have answered the age-old question:
“If you get bitten by a shark… will you go back in the ocean?”
Answer: “YES! YES I WILL! AND I’D DO IT AGAIN.” 🏇💥
