Kia ora team,
I’m producing a South Island speaking tour this summer featuring renowned wildlife cameraman Doug Allan OBE.
Doug has spent over 40 years filming wildlife in some of the most remote environments on Earth and has worked on landmark natural history series including Blue Planet, Planet Earth, and Frozen Planet. The tour, Life Behind the Lens, is an illustrated talk followed by an open Q&A, focusing on storytelling, field craft, problem-solving in extreme conditions, and what it really takes to build a long-term career behind the camera.
Doug will be speaking in Wanaka on the 26th February, as well as in Glenorchy (24th Feb) and Queenstown (1st March). Given the strong crossover with photography, filmmaking, and visual storytelling, I thought this may be of interest to Wanaka Camera Club members.
I wondered whether you might be open to:
Sharing the event with your members, or
Letting me know the best way to reach people who may be interested (newsletter, Facebook group, noticeboard, etc.)
No expectations at all - I’d simply love to connect and see whether this aligns with what your club offers.
I’m very happy to send through posters, links, or further information if helpful. You may also find this Google Drive folder useful, which includes posters and promotional material:

Thanks very much for your time and consideration.

Liam

Hello all,

Just a quick note about a great documentary currently showing on Netflix and maybe other platforms as well.

It is titled "The Stringer" and it is an in-depth investigation as to who really took the amazing "Na**lm Girl" photograph from the Vietnam war about 1972 I think.

It is an incredible story with a strong photography / camera theme, well worth the watch.
Please pass this on to others if you like.

Merry Xmas
