The ring ceremony is often just a small part of a wedding day – we don’t normally give it much more attention than anything else.

Unless of course, the groom is a jeweller.

For most couples ring shopping is an exciting (maybe even overwhelming!) experience. But for Bridget and David it was so much more, with Bridget designing the rings and David crafting them by hand.

As artists ourselves, it was amazing to go behind the scenes to capture this unique creation process. You realise art comes in many forms… jewellers create art from metal… we create art from moments…

There were many special moments on Bridget & David’s wedding day, but finally getting to put that ring on his wife’s finger surely would have been a proud one for David.

Today is our 13th wedding anniversary, and we love that we get to capture the next chapter in other’s love stories.

Did you know...?

The wedding ring is worn on the left "ring" finger because it is the only finger with a vein that connects to the heart? And when your husband-to-be crafts that ring for you with his bare hands, we reckon that shows the ultimate connection 🥰

The Kombibooth is at Beervana this weekend, helping Deep Creek Brewing Co celebrate their 10th birthday – cheers to that! We couldn't think of a better way to toast to such a milestone. After a four-year hiatus, Jason decided to enter this years NZIPP Nikon Iris Awards, and it paid off – these images earned him a place as a finalist in the Wedding In-Camera category. All of these were single frames, with no photoshop editing allowed.
