There are days when the coast puts on a show that no sunset ever could.

Light rays coming through layers of cloud & rain falling in the distance. The sea all rough and ready.

And then, if you look closely, a waterspout reaching down from the clouds in the far left of the frame. A reminder of just how wild and unpredictable this coastline can be.

A stunning shot isnā€™t always found in calm conditions. Sometimes itā€™s found in the raw energy of a place that refuses to be tamed.

This is the West Coast I never tire of photographing. Powerful. Ever-changing. Full of surprises.

Palmerston Street, a steady stream of friendly faces, and some of Westportā€™s best local businesses all within a short stroll.

If youā€™re in town, wander down this end of the street and discover a few hidden gems. Grab a coffee, browse the shops, and enjoy everything our little corner of the Coast has to offer.

Gathered By Tide

Some places reveal their story over time.
Gathered By Tide is one of those moments.

Along the West Coast, the tide leaves behind more than driftwood and stone. It gathers texture, movement, light and little reminders of where nature has travelled before finding its place to rest. Standing here, I was drawn to the layers within the scene, from the scattered shoreline details to the dramatic sky rolling in above.

This newest fine art print is now available in our gallery in Westport, online, and weā€™re excited to have it featured in The Sum of All Parts exhibition in Greymouth.
