The whole world in her arms.

There is nothing I will ever photograph that moves me more than this a new mum breathing in her baby for the very first time. That kiss on the top of his head that says everything words never could.

I am a photographer. I take photos of other people's children for a living. And for a long time, I had almost none of my own son.

There's this thing that happens when you're behind the camera all day you forget to step in front of it.

You're always the one preserving everyone else's memories and somehow your own child is growing up in the background with barely a photo to show for it.

Tate just turned three. Three whole years of the most chaotic, joyful, exhausting, beautiful little human and I nearly let it slip by undocumented.

So this year I made a promise to myself. I set up the camera. I got on the floor with him. I let him hide under the sheet and laugh until we both couldn't breathe. And I pressed the shutter.

These photos are some of my most treasured possessions.

If you're a mum who never has photos of yourself or your kids because you're always the one holding the phone this is your sign.

You deserve to be in the frame. Your children deserve to have these memories captured properly. That's exactly what I'm here for.
