Landscape and Travel Photography Khalid Al Kharusi is a landscape and travel photographer, and a photography tour guide.

He was born and raised in Muscat, Oman. Since his childhood, Khalid has always felt fortunate to grow up in a country with rich culture, diverse landscape and untouched nature. As Khalid has been photographing Oman since 1991, he now has one of the country’s largest image libraries. His photographs have been featured in magazines and books, both in Oman and internationally. Since 2001, Khalid has

published the Discover Oman calendar and the Discover Oman postcard series, and in 2020, he has published two photobooks Iceland: the Earthly Paradise and Oman: a Paradise of Land and People. Khalid has been traveling around the world exploring many destinations in search for the best moments to capture. His growing interest in journeys and outdoor activities have led him to success sharing the beauty he encounters along the way. Throughought his lens, Khalid expresses the magnificence of the Planet Earth and the heartbeats of life!

في رأس مدركة، يبدأ الشروق بطريقة لا تشبه أي مكان آخر.
الضوء الأول يلامس الصخور، والبحر يرفع صوته، والأمواج العالية ترتطم بالشاطئ كأنها ترسم المشهد من جديد.

هنا لا تلتقط الصورة فقط… بل تنتظر اللحظة التي تكشف فيها الطبيعة قوتها وجمالها معًا.

كانت هذه المجموعة من الصور محاولة لتوثيق ذلك الحوار بين الضوء، البحر، والصخور في واحدة من أجمل سواحل سلطنة عُمان.

At Ras Madrakah, sunrise feels different.
The first light touches the rocks, the sea rises with power, and high waves crash against the shore as if nature is shaping the scene all over again.

This is not just a place to photograph… it is a place to wait, observe, and capture the moment when light and movement come together.

This photo series is my attempt to document that powerful dialogue between sunrise, waves, and rocks along one of Oman’s most beautiful coastlines.

في إندونيسيا، الشلالات ليست مجرد منظر طبيعي… بل لحظة تأخذك إلى قلب الطبيعة🌿

من غابات بالي الخضراء إلى الزوايا الهادئة في جزيرة لومبوك، كان لكل شلال إحساس مختلف. بعضها قوي ومهيب، وبعضها هادئ كأنه مخفي وسط الطبيعة، بين الصخور الخضراء ورذاذ الماء وصوت المكان.

لكن الجمال الحقيقي؟
أن تقف خلف الكاميرا، تنتظر الضوء المناسب، وتكتشف أن لكل شلال مزاجه الخاص، وإيقاعه، وقصته.

هذه أربع لحظات من رحلتي في بالي ولومبوك — تذكير جميل بأن الطبيعة تعرف كيف تجعلنا نتوقف ونتأمل.

أي منظر من هذه الشلالات ستختار لتصويره أولاً؟

Indonesia is a place where water doesn’t just fall… it performs.

From the lush jungles of Bali to the hidden corners of Lombok, every waterfall felt different. Some were powerful and dramatic, others calm and almost silent, surrounded by green cliffs, soft mist, and the sound of nature all around.

The real magic?
Standing there with the camera, waiting for the light, and realizing that each waterfall has its own mood, its own rhythm, and its own story.

These four moments are from my journey through Bali and Lombok Islands, a reminder that nature always has a way of making us pause.

عند حافة الضوء… يبدأ سحر الجبال.

من أعلى جبل شمس في سلطنة عُمان، حيث يلامس الغروب قمم الجبال بهدوء، تتشكل لحظة لا تتكرر.
ألوان دافئة تنساب على الصخور، وملامح جبل المشط تظهر في الخلف كأنها لوحة طبيعية مرسومة بعناية.

في هذا المشهد، لا يكون الغروب مجرد نهاية يوم… بل بداية إحساس عميق بعظمة المكان وجمال الطبيعة العُمانية.

From the heights of Jebel Shams in Oman, sunset paints the mountains with golden light, while Jabal Al Misht rises in the background like a timeless natural masterpiece.

تفاصيل يومية قد تبدو عادية لأهل المكان، لكنها بالنسبة للمصور تحمل قصصًا لا تُنسى.

بين الوجوه، والطرقات، والألوان، ولحظات العمل والحياة، اكتشفت جانبًا مختلفًا من فيتنام… جانبًا صادقًا، هادئًا، ومليئًا بالحياة.

هذه الصور ليست فقط من رحلة،
بل من لحظات شعرت فيها أن الكاميرا لا توثق المشهد فقط… بل تحفظ الإحساس أيضًا.

التصوير في إسطنبول يشبه الدخول في قصة نابضة بالحياة.
من الصيادين على جسر غلطة، إلى المآذن التي يلامسها الأذان، إلى الوجوه المحلية التي تمنح المدينة روحها، زيارتي الأخيرة أعادت لي جمال هذه المدينة المليئة بالحياة والإرث.

مزيج من الأصالة والحركة واللحظات الإنسانية… كلها تتكشف في شوارع إسطنبول.

في جزيرتَي بالي ولمبوك، القصص تُروى بملامح الناس وألوان الحياة اليومية، من مزارع الأرز الخضراء، إلى الأسواق الشعبية، إلى وجوه الطلاب والطالبات وهم يسيرون نحو مدارسهم في الصباح الباكر بابتسامات مليئة بالأمل.

تصوير السفر بالنسبة لي ليس فقط التقاط مناظر جميلة، بل هو محاولة لفهم روح المكان وأهله، كيف يعيشون، وكيف يرون العالم من حولهم. وربما هذا ما يجعل كل صورة تجربة جديدة، ومغامرة لا تتكرّر.✈️

بالي تنبض بالحياة والروح الفنية، بينما لمبوك أكثر هدوءًا وبكرًا، تحتفظ بسحرها الطبيعي وثقافتها الأصيلة. كل زاوية هناك تحكي قصة تستحق أن تُروى بعدسة عاشق للتجوال والطبيعة.
