I usually don’t share too much on FB , but wanted to update on Jayden
Jayden went to the doctor on Tuesday after coming home from work not feeling well. They tested her and she was positive for Influenza B, so they started her on Tamiflu.
All week she continued to get worse — her fever wouldn’t come down even with alternating Tylenol and Motrin. She was nauseous, vomiting, unable to eat, and could barely keep fluids down.
By Thursday evening she was so sick and dehydrated that we went to the emergency room. They took blood, gave her medication for nausea, and started IV fluids and a Tylenol drip. After giving blood she became dizzy and threw up. While receiving her IV, she had a seizure and went into respiratory distress. They had to place her on a ventilator.
She was moved to the ICU, had an MRI, and the doctors began running multiple tests to figure out what caused the seizure. By the grace of God and a lot of prayer, she was able to come off the ventilator. She is still in the ICU, slowly improving, and continuing to undergo testing. She’s not fully herself yet, but today she started answering questions and even ate a little. Her fever is still there but manageable.
She is having trouble moving her left arm and leg, so the doctors are doing another MRI since the first one came back normal. Tonight she remains in the ICU, but she is getting better.
Please keep Jayden in your prayers. Anyone who knows her knows she has a huge heart — outgoing, funny, a little spitfire. Please lift her up in prayer for complete healing.
