PRESS RELEASE ...........................................................................
On behalf of the Executives and the registered members of the NNA Inc.in Papua New
Guinea, I extend my sincerest appreciation to the attendees of the Gala Dinner Night on 25 July 2025 as well as the general public who attended the New Ireland Day celebrations on 26 July 2025. We managed to deliver these back to back events successfully.
I also acknowledge the sponsorship payments made by the Platinum Sponsor of the NNA Gala Dinner Night being Kumul Consolidated Holdings Limited. Also, the Namatanai Chinese Business Community as Silver Sponsors and Namatanai Lodge and Wantok Services in Namatanai, New Ireland Province as bronze sponsors.
I also further extend our word of appreciation to the various representatives who attended on behalf of the State entities, the corporate houses and NGO’s in East New Britain Province, New Ireland Province, Port Moresby and Australia. NNA Inc. is committed to ensuring that the people’s aspirations in participating in development in Namatanai are realized and the amount generated is appropriated accordingly to ensure that the project of rehabilitating the children’s’ ward at the Namatanai Rural Hospital is implemented effectively, and swiftly.
On this note, it is with great pleasure that NNA Inc. announces the total monies raised from the NNA Inc Gala Dinner hosted on 25 July 2025 and the New Ireland Day celebrations hosted 26 July 2025. As confirmed by the Executives and the registered members of NNA Inc., the association generated a total of K139, 240.90 from both events. We thank all our sponsors for being our partners in this journey.
As we celebrate this great turn out, NNA Inc. is reminded of its project. We remain committed in implementing our project without delay. In saying that, I wish to raise a serious concern in relation to the prolonged delay in settling and signing the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between NNA Inc. and New Ireland Provincial Health Authority (NIPHA). Since June 2025, the NNA Inc. partnership team has been in close and active consultation with the Partnership Coordinator of the NIPHA including the CEO Dr Hiasihri. Since then, we are yet to receive an update as to what has been the main cause of the delay in executing the MOA between the two entities. I raise serious concern over this prolonged delay which has since halted the project implementation from NNA Inc.’s perspective. For that reason, I also make a call out to the NIPHA Administration to seriously look into the draft MOA between the two entities and have it settled as soon as possible so that NNA Inc., together with its partners, can enter into Namatanai Rural Hospital and roll out the projects which has been agreed to by the two parties.
We remain committed in following NIPHA’s partnership procedures however we kindly request that this internal procedures be sped up and completed soon. I say that the mothers and children of Namatanai District cannot wait for the “paper work” to continue on without it materializing. We need to see these developments. NNA Inc. is committed to genuinely partner with NIPHA in ensuring that its shortfalls are captured within our objectives. In doing so, we will have assisted the NIPHA and ourselves (NNA Inc.) in achieving the respective entities’ objectives and key performance indicators(KPIs).
NNA Inc. is not just here for the short term, but for the long hauI. Namatanai is the home of NNA Inc, and for that, it cannot afford to fail.
Once again, we (NNA) thank our valued sponsors, partners, and everyone for your trust and support. Together, we will deliver on our commitment to improve the lives of our people in the health sector.
Yours in development.
NNA President.
