A HIDDEN COFFEE GEM IN ASAKUSABASHI! ☕️

What if we told you that one of the best coffee we’ve ever had was a random discovery? We stumbled upon this place while walking around Asakusabashi after seeing their massive coffee roasting machine. We didn’t even know it existed, but we’re so glad we stopped by!

The experience was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly, he even asked about my favorite Pokemon and he let us try different blends in tiny tasting cups. He was so passionate about his work that it felt like being a guest in someone’s home rather than a shop. We bought some coffee beans and they are one of the best we’ve ever had. We will definitely go back if we get the chance!

The Ichiran Experience! 🍜

Ichiran is probably on everyone’s must try list when traveling to Japan and we finally visited the Shinjuku branch to see what the hype was about. We went there mainly for the experience. Having individual dividers between people was a unique and private way to enjoy ramen. The staff were very friendly, and even though the service was designed for no eye contact, everything felt very welcoming. As for the food, the ramen was good, though for us, it felt more like a “one time experience” rather than a place we would love to go back to. Most of the people during our visit were fellow foreigners. There’s also a long wait list. It’s definitely a unique experience to try!

🍽 What we ordered:

🚽 They have a toilet but we didn’t get a chance to check it.

STEP INTO THE WORLD OF P**P! 💩

What if we’re to tell you that an actual museum about p**p exists? That’s exactly what this place is. It’s all about p**p! Unko means p**p in Japanese. As someone who’s a frequent flyer to the porcelain throne, this was a dream destination, not for a deposit but for pure p**p experience. The museum is conveniently located inside a mall and has different p**p themed activities inside. It’s a bit small and you can go through everything within an hour but we still had lots of fun. If you want a place where you can look, touch, and play with p**p without the mess and shame, this is it!

⚠️ Disclaimer #1: Friendly reminder that the toilets inside are NOT for p**ping.
⚠️ Disclaimer #2: Almost everything you see is p**p shaped. No real p**p here!

A must visit for Pokémon fans! (Part 2)

(This post is specifically for the ambiance/experience review. The food review is at the Part 1 from a previous post)

As soon as we walked inside the café, we were greeted by a staff member with a pokémon themed uniform. We were seated at the C area, which was the nearest at the entrance. Every inch of this place literally screams “Pokémon!”, from the floor to the ceiling. They literally had a pokeball shaped light on the ceiling. They also had some exclusive merch on display right after the entrance like a Pikachu plushie wearing a chef uniform. Each table had a tablet where we could choose our orders and Pokémon designed paper placemats (we brought them back home because they told us we could keep them as souvenirs). During our time there, a wild Pikachu appeared! The staff were dancing along with Pikachu and everyone else literally had participated in dancing. It was really fun. Pikachu roamed around the whole café for a bit before heading out. There’s a specific place inside where you could take photos with 2 giant Pikachu plushies wearing chef uniforms. The staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating. They were really quick with their service as well. Overall, we really had fun and were very full. There’s also a Pokémon center outside the café. Definitely go there if you’re a Pokémon fan travelling in Tokyo!

Quick Tip:
• Getting a reservation is extremely difficult due to the amount of people trying to reserve at the same time so make sure you book in advance.
