📖 2 Timothy 1:8-9 World English Bible (WEB)

" Therefore don’t be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship for the Good News according to the power of God, who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal, "

Called According to God’s Purpose

2 Timothy 1:8–9 reminds us that being a follower of Christ comes with a calling and purpose. We should never be ashamed of our faith or our testimony, even when following God becomes difficult.

Paul encourages us to endure hardship and remain faithful, not because we are strong enough on our own, but because we can depend on the power of God. Difficult seasons do not mean that God has abandoned us. Sometimes, they are opportunities to demonstrate our faith and trust in Him.

Verse 9 also reminds us that God saved us and called us not because of our accomplishments or good works, but because of His own purpose and grace. Our calling is a gift from God, and His grace gives us the strength to fulfill it.

✨ Life Application:

You may not always understand why you are going through certain struggles, but remember that God has a purpose for your life. Do not be ashamed of your faith. Keep serving, keep trusting, and keep moving forward—even when the path is difficult. God’s grace is greater than your weaknesses, and His purpose is greater than your circumstances.

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for saving me and calling me according to Your purpose and grace. Help me never to be ashamed of my faith or my testimony. When I face hardships, give me the courage to endure and the strength to keep trusting You.

Remind me that my calling is not based on my own abilities or achievements, but on Your grace and Your purpose. Help me faithfully use my life to serve You, encourage others, and share the Good News.

When I feel weak, remind me that Your power is sufficient. May my life and testimony bring honor and glory to Your name.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏✨

🌱Walk with the Spirit, let go of the flesh, and choose humility over pride. When God leads your life, you don't need to compete with anyone—you only need to become who He created you to be.

VERSE OF THE WEEK:

📖Galatians 5:24-26 New International Version (NIV)
"Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other."

✅This passage reminds us that following Christ means allowing the Holy Spirit to change the way we live, think, and treat others.

Verse 24 — Crucifying the flesh
“To crucify the flesh” means choosing to let go of sinful desires, selfishness, pride, anger, and anything that pulls us away from God. It is a daily decision to put God first rather than allowing our emotions and desires to control us.

Verse 25 — Keep in step with the Spirit
If we have received the Holy Spirit, our lives should reflect His guidance. We are encouraged to walk with God daily, allowing His wisdom to guide our decisions, words, relationships, and actions. We don't have to figure everything out on our own—God wants to lead us.

Verse 26 — Stay humble and loving
Paul warns us not to become conceited, jealous, or competitive with others. Our spiritual journey is not a competition. Instead of comparing ourselves with others, we should encourage them, celebrate their blessings, and remain humble before God.

🌿 Life Application

Every day, we have a choice: follow our flesh or follow the Spirit. When we surrender our pride, selfish desires, jealousy, and anger to God, we make room for the Holy Spirit to produce love, patience, kindness, and peace in our lives.

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me through Your Word to crucify the desires of the flesh and to walk in step with Your Spirit. Help me surrender my pride, selfishness, anger, jealousy, and every desire that keeps me from becoming the person You want me to be.

Lord, guide my thoughts, words, and actions each day. Teach me to listen to Your Spirit and follow Your direction even when it is difficult. Keep my heart humble, free from comparison and envy. Instead of competing with others, help me encourage them, rejoice in their blessings, and show them Your love.

May my life reflect the character of Christ. Give me the strength to choose what is right, the wisdom to follow Your ways, and the humility to trust Your plan.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏❤️
