For Yumi, this was a day she never imagined would come so gently and yet so surely. She stood before the man she now calls her husband knowing, deep in her heart, that this love was written by God Himself. That they were prepared for each other, in the waiting, in the seasons of lack and in the moments of becoming whole.

Known as strong, independent, an ate and a panganay, Yumi carried life with courage. But love softened her. With him, she found rest. With him, she became her most vulnerable self, cared for, protected and loved in the simplest ways. A love that turned strength into tenderness and independence into trust.

Lawrence promised to love her with all his heart and with the love that comes from God. To honor, support, fight for and choose her in seasons that are easy and seasons that are hard. He thanked her for staying when he had nothing, for never leaving, for choosing him again and again. For being the beginning and the end of his every day.

The weather that day was unpredictable. Rain came and went, the wind blew strong across the island, but the wedding continued. The vows were spoken. The promises were sealed. As if Batanes itself was reminding everyone that love does not wait for perfect conditions. It moves forward, faithful and firm.

Some love stories begin when you least expect them and arrive exactly when you need them the most.

For Xandy, Tristan came at the perfect time. She was in the season of healing, learning to find peace and strength within. She had built walls around her heart to protect herself but somehow, Tristan found his way in. Brick by brick, he climbed those walls and showed her that she was worthy of love, care and protection.
For Tristan, it all started in the most unexpected place, a cozy online game during uncertain times. What began as a random encounter became the start of something real. In that small corner of the internet, he found the love he never knew he was searching for.

There was a typhoon before they arrived in Batanes and heavy rains poured the day before the wedding. But God listens to prayer. On the morning of their wedding, the drizzle softened and just as Xandy began to walk toward Tristan, the sun broke through the clouds, warm, golden and gentle, as if heaven itself was smiling.

We witnessed another love story unfold here in Batanes, a story of healing, faith and perfect timing.

Twenty years. From sweethearts, to partners, to a love that stayed through every turn. A perfectly imperfect life that always felt like home. In their vows, they said it simply and strongly.

"I will always choose you anyway. I will take care of you, love you and grow old with you. We will move together toward kindness and empathy. Even if I failed many times, I will keep making things right. If I could choose again from the beginning, it will still be you, always. I promise to love you in the next 20, 50, even another lifetime."

It was raining that day. The kind of weather that tests timelines and patience, but as usual, we pushed through. We did what we always do in Batanes, we follow the light when it shows up, we protect the moments when the sky changes and we record a love story that refuses to stop.

Love learned to wait.
Across miles and time zones,
through late night calls and quiet mornings,
they held on to a promise
they could not always touch
but always believed in.
Long distance taught them this,
that love is not measured by how near
but by how steady.
By how often you choose,
even when it is hard.
Even when the world feels far.
And then Batanes happened.
The kind of place that makes you breathe slower,
as if the island knows
some vows deserve silence and sky.
Our day began with warmth,
good light resting gently on their faces,
soft enough to feel like a blessing.
Then the ceremony came
and the sky turned quiet and gloomy,
the wind grew bold
and we thought the drone would not fly.
But love has its own timing.
At postnup, near the end,
the sun suddenly returned,
breaking through the clouds like an answered prayer.
We chased the light,
we caught the glow,
we captured the sunset
as if the day itself decided
to reward their waiting.
The celebration ended with dinner
at the Basco Lighthouse,
where stories feel bigger
and love feels anchored.

Some love stories take time, not because love is late, but because it arrives when hearts are finally ready. Noel and Joy waited, healed and grew and when love came, it came at the perfect time. And somehow, it led them all the way to Batanes.

They shared something that made us smile. While talking about getting married, Noel saw one of our posts on his timeline. A simple moment, a simple question. What if Batanes. He asked Joy if she wanted to get married here. Joy answered without hesitation, “Sino ba naman ang aayaw.”

It was a fair winter day. We started the shoot with a light drizzle, the kind that feels normal in this season. Then the skies settled, the flow stayed smooth and everything unfolded naturally from preps to ceremony to postnup.

For their postnup, they chose the Alapad rolling hills, quiet and wide, the kind of place that makes you breathe slower and hold your person closer. After that, we moved to Basco Lighthouse for the reception, where the celebration felt warm and intimate, shared with Joy’s mom, laughter, stories and the kind of joy that stays.

They have walked through highs and lows, misunderstanding and healing, growing and choosing each other again and again. And in Batanes, that journey finally reached its moment.

In their vows, the heart of their story was clear.
Jameer promised to love Dennis with intention and truth, to honor and support him, to choose partnership rooted in trust and grace. She said after all the searching, healing and waiting, she finally found her home.
Dennis answered with faith and certainty. He vowed to love her faithfully and unconditionally, to lead, protect and provide with all his heart and to build their life with Christ at the center. With him, home was not just a place, it was a promise.

And Batanes, true to its character, made the day unforgettable. There was a drizzle during the preparations, soft and quiet, almost like a gentle reminder that this day would not be scripted. It stopped, and the ceremony began with strong wind sweeping through. Then in the middle of their vows, rain fell. No panic, no turning back. The wedding continued. And as surprisingly as it came, it stopped too, allowing the story to move forward, the ceremony to finish and the postnup to unfold the way it was meant to, with light returning just in time.

By reception, the wind was still present, but so was joy. Everyone celebrated, laughed, and stayed fully in the moment, as if the weather was only part of the backdrop and never the main character.

In Batanes, where skies can change in minutes, Dennis and Jameer showed what stays constant. Love that chooses. Faith that holds. Commitment that continues.
