She was Rapunzel and he was the prince on their school skit. But their stage story took a different route in real life, because Jay left for the US and Ally pursued her life in the Philippines. It was after many years that the so-called plot thickens. They met again virtually and rekindled their story. There will be no more tower with no doors and no more locks; no more letting down of her golden hair; no more desert and forest and blindness, for at last, they are together and all we wish is their happily-ever-after.

Jade has no list of what she wants for her wedding. Her dream is to just get married with the man who will love her more than life itself.

But, you see, the heaven is gracious. It blesses her with the latter who, in the process, exceeds the former. Ron offers her a wedding she and their loved ones will never forget. His rationale is simple: Isang beses lang.

In a world of instant and next where relationships are deposed to social media posts, may Ron and Jade always remember this day which will never be repeated. May they be guided by the sacred choice they made, for that godly chance of choosing will never come again. May they be fortified by the lessons of their long-distance relationship; of their almost-break-ups; of their random surprises; of their waking-up-together; of their I-choose-you everyday and always.

Isang beses lang.
Ikaw lang.

Jerome and Lana had their civil wedding last year amidst pandemic. But they are well-aware of the graces which the sacrament of marriage will bring to their lives. And so they approached God’s altar, now with their little one. It was a celebration worth-remembering: the church wedding, the baptism and the Holy Mass simultaneously happening.

No reception thereafter.
But everyone came home full.
For there was love.
And love was enough.
