Wandering through this vibrant corridor of art, the city noise fades, replaced by a sense of stepping into another dimension. Every mural tells a story, and every color feels like a heartbeat. In this hidden sanctuary, my soul has finally found its rhythm; I am utterly, irrevocably in love with this place.

The St. Joseph Parish Church, famously known as the Barcelona Church, is a premier example of Spanish colonial heritage in the Bicol Region. Established in 1874 by Franciscan friars, the structure remains one of Sorsogon’s most evocative landmarks, bridging the gap between 19th-century engineering and modern devotion.
Originally known as the settlement of Danlog, the town was renamed Barcelona by Spanish colonizers who saw a reflection of the Catalan coast in its shores. The church was positioned as a spiritual and strategic anchor for this coastal outpost, designed to withstand both the elements and the passage of time.
While the interior has been modernized with contemporary ceilings and stained glass to serve today's parishioners, the exterior remains an authentic 19th-century relic.
The site’s historical value is amplified by the Presidencia ruins located directly across the street. These coral-stone remnants of the old municipal building, set against the backdrop of the sea, complete a heritage circuit that makes the area one of the most photographed and culturally significant spots in Sorsogon.

Sa araw na ito ay ginugunita natin ang dakilang sakripisyo at pagpapakasakit ng ating Panginoong Hesukristo sa krus. Bagamat bumabalot ang anino ng pangamba dahil sa mga sigalot sa Middle East, tandaan nating hindi tayo nag-iisa sa ating mga pasanin. Ano mang hirap ang ating haharapin, ang ating panalangin na nagmumula sa puso at pananampalataya ang magsisilbing sandata at kalasag sa bawat hamon ng buhay.
Ang panalangin ay hindi lamang sandata para sa ating sarili, kundi isang tulay ng kapayapaan para sa mga kapatid nating direktang apektado ng kaguluhan. Manatili tayong matatag.

Canon Philippines Kicks Off 2026 PhotoMarathon; Now Open to All Camera Brands

TAGUIG CITY, Philippines—On January 27, 2026, Canon Marketing Philippines officially signaled the return of the country’s most anticipated photography competition. During a Thanksgiving and launch event held at Revel at the Palace, BGC, President and CEO Anuj Aggarwal and CII Director Jian Liu honored previous PhotoMarathon winners, celebrating the legacy of Filipino visual storytelling.
The 2026 Canon PhotoMarathon, set for April 18, marks a historic milestone: for the first time, the competition is open to non-Canon users. Registration is now open through the Canon PH Delightful app.
