Jane Inner Monologue: Wheelchair Symbolism

You always believed freedom meant movement steps, choices, distance. But the chair taught you otherwise. It held you still long before your pulse went quiet. The wheelchair wasn't restraint; it was transformation. A body can breathe and yet no longer belong to itself. The
chair made you dependent, gently, quietly. You stopped choosing because I chose for you. I pushed, you yielded. I steered, you surrendered. Eventually, you stopped wanting direction at all.
That’s when I knew your agency had died not your body, not yet… just your freedom.

People think death comes at the end, but you died the moment the chair felt safer than standing. When stillness became devotion.When you let me become your movement. Now you’re gone, but the chair remains a monument to the moment you stopped being you. They'll call it a wheelchair. I call it proof that I was the
only one you couldn’t leave. I was the only one for you.

(This is a fictional narrative/story created for Halloween a psychological exploration of obsession and control.)
