Boracay, known for its powdery white sand and crystal clear waters, made it to the list of 50 “most Instagrammable” places in the world, according to a travel website.

Big 7 Travel released its list of 50 Most Instagrammable spots for 2023, which is based on “a scoring system that analyzes the number of hashtags per destination, survey results from our social audience, and input from our editorial team.”

The travel website ranked Boracay in the 39th spot after garnering over 800 million hashtags about the island across Instagram and TikTok.

“The Philippines cannot be left off this list. The island is known for its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters, and we absolutely love all the shot taken here – what will you find for your feed?” Big 7 Travel said of Boracay.

The island in Aklan was closed to tourists for half a year in 2018 as the government embarked on a 6-month cleanup and rehabilitation of the island.

The “most Instagrammable” place, according to Big 7 Travel, is Milan, dubbed as Italy’s fashion capital, followed by London, England; Paris, France; Istanbul, Turkey; and New York, USA.

Last year, Big 7 Travel named Boracay in Aklan as the second “most Instagrammable” place in the world.
