First set of photos out of three sets from Pook Port in Kalibo. It was my first time here but this place felt like what the Manila Baywalk used to be like before the Dolomite beach. The biggest difference: the air was so much more fresh and the atmosphere more calm. 🌅

📍Naked Island, Siargao

It really lives up to the name — no trees, no shade, just pure white sand and sea. People call it “bare,” but with all the tourists (me included), it didn’t feel empty at all. Had to weave through sunbathers, people taking pics, and dodge the occasional drone. Surprisingly, the sand wasn’t hot at all — it actually felt cool on my feet, maybe because it’s just a 200m sandbar?

📍 Late afternoons at Station 2, White Beach, Boracay, Malay, Aklan.

It’s low tide, and little puddles of water have formed on the beach. The water is tinted green due to the presence of green algae, more commonly known as lumot.

To our friends and visitors—lumot is completely natural and a sign that summer is near!

There is no evidence that its presence is caused by commercialization or development on the island. In fact, many longtime locals who were here before the island’s development have seen lumot appear even then.

If you’re swimming along the front beach and feel something tickle your foot underwater, it might just be some lumot saying “hi” 👋🏼
