We Commit to Beat OSAEC (Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children)!

Today, together with our partners from City Government of Valencia, Bukidnon Barangay Poblacion, Balay and Save the Children Philippines, we mark our commitment to further advance the rights of children by launching the project: “Strengthening Community-based Systems for Awareness, Prevention and Protection against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC)”.

Our Executive Director Charmaine Mae Dagapioso-Baconga, BMFI Director for Special Project and Project Manager Baht Latumbo, SCP Community Development Officer Nesh Rascal and Barangay Council of Poblacion Valencia City led by the Punong Barangay Hon. Ana Apostol- Rempohito and BCPC Chair Hon. Carnelian Macaso.

The ceremonial signing became more meaningful and symbolic because of the spoken and written commitment from the partners. The Barangay Council of Barangay Poblacion, Valencia City led by Punong Barangay Hon. Ana Apostol-Rempohito expressed their full support to the project.

Together for Children

Courtesy meeting and Project Orientation was conducted last July 11-12, 2022 in Barangay Poblacion and City Social Welfare and Development office of Valencia City, Bukidnon.

In the meeting, Balay Mindanaw Foundation, Inc. in partnership with Save the Children Philippines discussed the Project entitled “Strengthening Community-based Systems for Awareness, Prevention and Protection Against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children”. This was participated by the Barangay Council of Barangay Poblacion, CSWD Administrative Officer, Social Worker and the Women and Children Protection Desk Officer of Valencia City.

The project seeks to protect children of all ages and gender in target communities in the Philippines from online sexual abuse and exploitation.
