Here's the Digital IEC for November, in celebration of National Environmental Awareness Month, National Clean Air Month, Climate Change Consciousness Week (November 19-29, 2023), and National Day for Youth in Climate Action (November 25, 2023) with the theme "Circular Actions for Climate Hope".
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗜 𝗗𝗢 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗘 𝗠𝗬 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗕𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗧?
𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥. Every little help and small positive outcome of many individual actions can add up to a large positive outcome. Get more involved in reducing our carbon footprints for future generations.
•𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆
Recycling is an effective and important measure to reduce your carbon footprint. It helps to decrease the amount of waste that goes to landfills and conserves natural resources.
•𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻
Empowering women to make decisions about their families and livelihoods is key to addressing climate change.
•𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Find a green energy provider or replace your burnt-out fluorescent lightbulbs with LEDs.
•𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀
Trees help to purify the air, stabilize soil, protect habitats, offset carbon, and reduce urban heat islands in both large and small cities.
•𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲
Plan your meals weekly, assess honestly, buy only what you need, and freeze or share leftovers.
•𝗨𝗻𝗽𝗹𝘂𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻
Unplug electronics or use smart power strips to easily turn them off when not in use.
•𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰
Avoid using disposable containers and bring your own take-home containers. One-time-use containers waste resources and energy, leading to greenhouse gas emissions.
•𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀
Live in a way that will sustain our lives and other life on this planet. Reduce the amount of stuff you buy. Repair before replacing appliances. Reuse items. Support sustainable items and businesses.
Climate change does not just impact forests, coral reefs, or even people in far-off countries – it affects all of us. Reducing our carbon footprint is fundamentally necessary to create a world where people and nature thrive.
