Most couples hire a photographer to capture their big day in beautiful images. The photographer may shoot posed portraits, but at times, the most poignant images come from candid shots. BG Valencia of Red Stilettos
Photography is among those who turn those unguarded moments into prized photos. An experienced photographer specializing in bo***ir and wedding photography, she offers a new and refreshing perspective on bo***ir shoots as she delivers engaging shots that appeal to the senses. It was in 2009 when BG began taking pictures while based in Boracay for work. She shares, "I started out covering events and birthdays; eventually I ventured out to photographing mytwo passions: weddings and bo***ir." Her style principle is simple: Photographs must appear natural and candid. By applying modern techniques, she is able to produce timeless pictures that please her clients. At weddings, she keeps her eyes peeled for little stories--a practice that can make a coverage taxing yet very rewarding. She shares, "Even when I feel physically drained and exhausted after the occasion, I still feel happy and revitalized because of the overwhelming emotions during weddings. Before BG covers a wedding, she establishes rapport with her clients by getting to know them better. "Firstly, I ask about their story, what theme they prefer, and what types of traditions they practice. More importantly, I make it a habit to start weddings with a prayer session with my clients," she says. Aside from offering wedding coverage, BG also does bo***ir shoots. In such shoots, she is able to make the brides feel comfortable around her, since BG knows which poses they'd be comfortable in. BG can direct, compose, and create bold yet tasteful photographs--each shot appears natural and artistic at the same time. Before a shoot, she comes up with ideas on her own, then she brainstorms with her team. She takes her clients' thoughts and incorporates them with her own so she could produce photographs that satisfy both parties. BG adds, "Days before a shoot, I isolate myself just to focus and find inspiration." To keep her inspired, BG attends workshops and researches on the latest trends. She also takes ideas from movies and songs. In addition, she conducts her own workshops to pass down her knowledge to new and upcoming photographers. BG envisions her company to be one of the most sought after team of women photographers in the country in the future. With her skills and pleasant disposition, BG continues to be one photographer that couples would love to work with.
