"L E G A L I T Y : K A T H R E E N⚘"
These past few years have been the most challenging part in our lives. We went through different phases of ourselves in the most swift and weird way. We just did, as if it was only a matter of wizardry. I, too, have had a very hard time adjusting to settings that I wasn't prepared to be in. Troubles from the past and of the present seemed to have clashed and it left me demented, everything was overwhelming. I was only 17 of doubts, now an 18 of resilience.
It is intriguing how people unconsciously recognize the huge gap that ages 17 and 18 have. We do know how time works however, there are times that we do not. Life is the real-deal tricky, it lies and it heals. It ties and rips strings of affection, to emphasize, it leads and misleads.
As I turn 18, I would like to portray myself as Betty and Augustine to the rumored correlated tracks of Taylor Swift's folklore album. The tracks "betty", "august" and "cardigan" are sung by the characters involved in the James-Betty summer love triangle. Everytime I get to listen to the tracks, I could somehow identify some of Betty's and Augustine's traits as they narrate their point of view of the love triangle and slowly paint an image of them in my head. Both women manifest parallel traits that can be relevant to each other. The thought brought me inspiration to link a thread out of each, take all of those traits one by one and perceive it as the start of my breakthrough.
All was not well that will end well. I am now opening the door of self-realization- to find the deepest wonders of life, choosing growth over comfort, productive days over gloomy ones and possibilities over doubts. Here's to acquiring the courage to move forward and choose ourselves, over and over.
