Mothers pass down more than recipes and traditions. They pass down stories, values, gestures, and little pieces of themselves that quietly stay with us through the years.

This Motherโ€™s Day, we celebrate the mothers and grandmothers who helped shape our lives through the traditions they carried and shared across generations. From family recipes and customs to words of wisdom and everyday routines, these memories become part of our heritage too.

What tradition did your mother or grandmother pass down to you? Share your stories and experiences with us in the comments below. ๐Ÿ’›

This May, we celebrate the stories, traditions, and shared histories that shape who we are today. National Heritage Month is a reminder that culture isnโ€™t just something we look back on, itโ€™s something we continue to live, preserve, and pass on.

To join the celebration, the Sugbu Chinese Heritage Museum is offering a special โ‚ฑ50 admission rate per person this month of May.

Visit us on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 8 to May 31, 2026, and explore the rich history and culture of Cebuโ€™s Chinese-Filipino community.

Bring your friends, your family, or come on your own! Some stories are better experienced in person.

Grounded in social drama and realism, the film follows an aging trans woman living in solitude, whose life quietly intertwines with a young q***r individual and a curious child. In these fleeting yet profound encounters, the film traces the invisible threads that bind generations of q***r experienceโ€”what is passed down, what is inherited, and what remains unresolved.

Set in the margins of Cebu City, it reflects on the marginalization of q***r livesโ€”especially those aging and often unseenโ€”while honoring their resilience, sacrifices, and the freedoms they helped shape. It is a tender story of memory, survival, and love. A story by the q***r, for the q***r.
