THE “PAMBOT” SERIES
Photo No. 3 - “Mga Pambot”
Bisayans have a tendency to name things or make a derivative of what a thing is called. One example is the word “Pambot” derived from the “Pump Boat” or, in local Filipino, “Bangka.” Pambot is a mispronunciation but it has gained a definition in the Bisayan vocabulary. Supposedly, in traditional Bisaya, it’s called a “Baroto”, yet Bisayans tend to lean on to “Pambot” for some reason. Maybe because it’s easier to say. So yeah, there’s another word for y’all. Hope you enjoyed this photo series.
