JuroMalazo Juro Malazo is an aspiring portrait and street photographer from the Philippines. IG: Juro Malazo Photography started October of 2012.

With a Panasonic Lumix LX5 as my first (and currently only) camera, I delved into the world of photography. Starting out, I took pictures of almost everything, just enjoying the act of taking photos. I found myself having fun in taking photos of lights in the night. The area I live in doesn't really offer much scenic views to capture, so I took photos of everyday stuff. I've been fascinated with S

treet Photography. I marvel at how photographers took the amazing shots and enjoy the snaps of history that I see in their work. After spending so much time staring at my laptop reading about it, I actually went out and tried shooting street myself. The experience was amazing. I tried the many approaches I read about. I tried shooting without looking at the screen, I tried just staying in one place and shooting whatever comes within range, I tried walking around, I tried capturing scenes. Then I tried what some call Street Portraiture. I walk around and take a photo when I see someone interesting. I walk up to them, kneel (usually) while bring my camera up at the same time, look at the screen and try to compose the shot as best as I can. Sometimes I approach them and ask permission, other times I don't. After the shot though, if they were aware I took a photo of them (which is often true), I smile at them and walk on. Despite the anxiety and fear I feel everytime I do this kind of shooting out on the streets, I love it. I love how I have the opportunity to connect with people out there, for a fraction of a second or for a few minutes of a short conversation. I love how I could capture people's reaction when a guy suddenly stops in front of them and points what looks like a camera at them. I also love how people pose without being told when I ask permission to take a photo of them. One thing is for sure: I'll keep doing this, and you'll see the photos on this page. ^_^

That was the day Abi Santiago-Estrada Bagaoisan and Neil Bagaoisan got married, and I'm honored to have been there to witness it all and save split second moments from the event and share them now as photographs.

I imagine any photography enthusiast would, at one point, want and decide to shoot portraits of their families, especially during the year end season.

About 2 years ago, year end season, my YN-560ii flash were new and I was only then beginning to shoot off camera flash, but I decided to shoot fam portraits. I didn't really know how to use the flash well yet and had to go the trial and error route to get decent results. Despite all that, I did end up with now priceless photos for my fam, and I knew it was all worth it.

Fast forward to the end of 2016 and I again had new gear that I didn't really know how to use yet but decided to shoot with anyway-- a 33 inch shoot through umbrella (plus a lightstand of course).

This album is a result of what one might call an experiment. Colors may be off, focus might not have been nailed and lighting may not be perfect.
These photos are not the best family portraits in the world, but the people in it are my family, so these, to me, are priceless photos yet again.
