FORTES IN FIDE — three words, five syllables, but have a powerful meaning.
Dapitanons annually celebrate Kinabayo Festival as a feast for our patron Saint James The Greater. Before the pandemic, we commemorated colorful festival activities such as street dancing, dance competition, pageants, and more. You could see that every nook and corner of the street is crowded with broad smiles of people dancing along with the melody of drums and cymbals. However, these usual ways of celebrating Kinabayo have changed and perhaps would remain history and a good memory.
In this short montage, we wanted to let the whole nation see how a true Dapitanon celebrates Kinabayo Festival amidst these challenging times. We wanted to show the true essence of Kinabayo and how our strong faiths give us the courage to thrive and survive in our lives. This pandemic strengthens our relationship with our Patron Saint, and it generates light to our darkest hour, symbolizing hope. And we wanted this montage to let Dapitanons see the grace of having strong faith.
Happy Fiesta, Dapitan! Together in our hearts, let us shout with pride. Viva, Señor Santiago! Viva! Viva! Viva!
