But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name,

Trusting in the name of Jesus is accepting Him as the incarnate Son of God, Who came to earth to be our substitute for sin. It is believing that Christ's death, burial, and Resurrection procured our salvation. It is trusting that His atoning sacrifice paid the price for our sin, and that by faith we are born again into the family of God. It is believing that the consequence of sin is death, but that Jesus paid the penalty of sin by dying on the Cross for us.

"...The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard."(Isaiah 58:8)

As you study God’s word and recall how He delivered His children during their challenging situations, don’t forget that He is the same GOD who will guard and deliver you. HE is your guard on all fronts. Our impenetrable Guard is the One who goes with us to fight against the enemy. Thank the LORD for being your rear guard! Amen.

LOVING THE UNLOVABLE

In 1 John 3:14-15, John, one of Jesus’ closest friends, warns us that hating someone doesn’t glorify God.
He wants us to love even those who are hard to love.

Our ability to love others on our own is limited. It’s circumstantial, based on how we feel about the other person and the way he or she treats us. But with GOD’s help, we are able to love others the way Jesus wants us to — everyone, all the time. GOD has given us all a great capacity to love, and in His strength, we can overcome all barriers.
