I Miss My Hometown — Carcanmadcarlan, The Cradle of Towns.
Looking at these old photographs brings me back to a time when life was simpler. The sound of the waves touching the shore.
Children playing and paddling their small boats without worrying about tomorrow. The familiar sight of fishermen and ships passing through our waters.
The long pier where we used to sit, think, and watch the world slowly move by. I remember the gatherings by the beach, the laughter of friends and family, the food that somehow tasted better because it was shared with people we loved. And then there is Likusan—standing silently through the years, watching generations come and go.
So much has changed.
The children in those small boats may now have families of their own. The familiar faces may have grown older. Some have left, while others remain.
The places may have changed, but the memories never really disappear. Sometimes, I find myself missing not just the place, but the version of myself who once called these moments ordinary.
Carcanmadcarlan will always be more than a hometown to me. It is where the sea taught us to dream, where the mountains watched us grow, where friendships were built, and where memories were created long before we realized they would someday become treasures.
No matter how far life takes me, my heart will always know the way back. Carcanmadcarlan—the cradle of towns, the keeper of my childhood, and forever… my home. ❤️
