🚨 Big Update: Messenger.com Is Saying Goodbye in 2026
Big changes are coming to Messenger.
Starting April 2026, Messenger.com will no longer be available for messaging. Along with it, the Messenger desktop app will also be discontinued. If you’ve been using Messenger as a standalone website on your computer, this marks the end of that chapter.
But don’t worry — your conversations aren’t going anywhere.
Moving forward, you can continue messaging through 👉 facebook.com/messages on your web browser. Users who visit Messenger.com will automatically be redirected there, making the transition smooth and seamless.
If you’re using Messenger without a Facebook account, you can still stay connected through the Messenger mobile app, which remains fully supported.
🔐 And yes — your chat history stays safe. You can restore your conversations anytime using your secure PIN.
This shift appears to be part of a larger move to streamline messaging into one unified web experience. While change can feel inconvenient at first, the goal is likely to simplify access and centralize the platform.
Still, for many longtime users, Messenger.com wasn’t just a website — it was a habit, a workspace tab, and a daily connection tool.
Now I’m curious —
💬 What are your thoughts about this, Messenger users?
Is this a practical move… or will you miss having Messenger as a standalone site?🤔
