What does three look like?

It looks like wonder, giggles, and small moments filled with big magic. A world explored with curious eyes, joyful laughter, and a heart still learning all the beautiful things it can be. Three candles, one sweet story, and a childhood worth remembering. 💖

UNSCRIPTED: 003 | Kambyo, Sukli, CHANGE

“Kuya, kambyo sa baynte.”

For years, that simple line carried more than currency. It carried routine. It carried trust. It was the small kindness of strangers passing your coins forward without a word. It was messy, loud, and unpredictable, but it was human.

Soon, however, that line will mean something else entirely.

We are no longer just asking for our change. We are watching the slow approach of a future that will reshape how millions of Filipinos move through their lives.

It is a new kind of commute. It promises to be cleaner, safer, and more efficient. And let us be honest: public transport must improve. People deserve better systems. Passengers deserve safety.

But this “change” will not just be technical. It will be cultural. It will be human.

Jeepneys were never perfect. They were crowded, loud, and hot. But they were alive. They forced interaction. You had to speak up. You had to wait. You had to trust a stranger to take your money and ensure it reached the driver. That small act of passing fare created a connection, whether we noticed it or not.
Modern systems are efficient. They are quiet. They are clean.

They will also be colder.

The move from jeepneys to buses is more than a change of vehicle; it is a shift in our daily existence. From shared spaces to silent rows. From hands passing coins to cards tapping machines (probably). From voices calling out destinations to screens flashing cold, digital text.

This is not about resisting progress. This is about being honest regarding what progress costs.

We are trading community for convenience. We are trading connection for control. We are trading the sound of “Ate, paabot po” for the silence of automation.

The trade-off is clear: We exchange human connection for efficiency. While our commutes get faster, this convenience comes at the expense of the everyday human element of the ride.

UNSCRIPTED: 001 | Bangkerohan

Took a while to enhance the photos, haha. Sharing all the photos I took whilst strolling a couple of weeks ago in one of the busiest markets in the city.

Bangkerohan is always moving, always loud, and way more alive than you’d think. There’s so much happening at once, but if you take a moment, you notice the little things that make it all feel real. Street photography is the perfect excuse to slow down and just see it all.

Here’s a glimpse of the market as I saw it.

041925 | Checked out a coffee shop in Samal Island that caught our attention, and it didn’t disappoint. We just wanted to chill, take some photos, and see what the place had to offer. It’s simple, air-conditioned, and quiet, with a cozy green corner and a small shelf of books you can read while hanging out. There are also a few nice spots for coffee or food shots.

We tried their cheesecakes, barista drink coffee, matcha, and mango latte. For the price, everything tasted better than expected. Definitely one of the few good coffee spots on the island with great value for money.

Also searched their page, turns out they’ve been around since 2020. We’re just late to the party, haha.

What’s good:

• Air-conditioned and quiet space
• Has a green corner
• Books available for reading
• Photo-friendly spots
• Tasty cheesecakes
• Range of iced/hot coffee, matcha, and other drinks
• Affordable prices:
– Bread from ₱25
– Coffee ₱80–₱130
– Pasta from ₱115
– Cake slices start at ₱110

And no, this page isn’t turning into a coffee shop review blog haha. I just happened to bring my camera, and since I used to upload coffee photos on my personal account, I figured, why not try something different here?

Tara Kape.
