I remember the first time I tried Satti in 2018, on one of the busy streets of Bongao. We had it for breakfast, and my first thought was, “Who would eat barbecue drowned in ketchup-like sauce this early in the morning?” 😅

Little did I know that it would eventually become one of my favorite foods

Whenever I’m in Zamboanga or Tawi-Tawi, I always make sure to have Satti. There’s just something about that smoky grilled meat, paired with that rich, spicy sauce, that keeps me coming back.

For the Tausug, Satti is traditionally a breakfast food, although it can certainly be enjoyed for lunch or dinner.

So yes, I was once skeptical about eating barbecue with sauce for breakfast. Now, whenever I see Satti, I don’t ask “who eats this for breakfast?” I ask, “Asa ta makakaon ug Satti?” 😂

Tawi-Tawi Local Resto | WrapSarap Food Trip!

We just arrived in Tawi-Tawi after a long trip, and you know what the first order of business was? FOOD! So, we went looking for a place where we could eat, relax, and recharge.

We decided to drop by WrapSarap. The resto has a second floor with an alfresco dining area, which makes it a pretty chill place to hang out, especially after a long day of traveling. They also have a lot of choices on the menu, so there’s definitely something for everyone.

For our first Tawi-Tawi food trip, we tried:
🍗 Chicken Piyanggang
🥘 Chicken Sisig
🥩 Beef Tapa
🍗 Fried Chicken
🍜 Classic Mee Goreng

And of course, we couldn’t end the meal without dessert! We had Corn Shake, Halo-Halo, and Mango Shake.

Overall, it was a good first meal after a long trip from Davao City
