Covering life events are so performative nowadays.

And I say this as someone
behind the camera.

I've seen it.

The couple who spent more time
checking how the shot looked
than actually being in the moment.

The family who arranged themselves
for the camera
before they even greeted each other.

The birthday celebrant
who was more concerned
about the content
than the people who showed up for them.

And I get it.

We live in a world
where if it wasn't documented,
it almost feels like it didn't happen.

But here's what gets lost
when everything becomes a production.

The moment stops being real.

And when the moment stops being real,
the camera has nothing to capture.

Because a photo doesn't preserve
what you performed.

It preserves what you felt.

Yung tawanan na hindi planado.
Yung tingin na hindi para sa camera.
Yung sandaling nakalimutan mo
na may photographer sa kwarto.

Yun ang nagtatagal.

Not the perfectly arranged shot.
Not the curated angle.
Not the version of yourself
you wanted everyone to see.

Kaya bilang isang photographer
and filmmaker,

the most important thing that I want
my clients to do is this:

Just live the moment.

Hayaan mo kaming mag-alala
sa kung paano namin makukuha yun.

Kasi ang trabaho namin
hindi lang kumuha ng "aesthetic" shots.

Ang trabaho namin
is to find the truth in the room
and make sure it lasts forever. 🙂
