A small, plump reddish brown finch with a black head and thick silvery-blue bill. Immatures are plain sandy brown with slightly darker wings. Often seen in flocks, usually in grassy areas, including lawns, but also marshes and rice paddies; prefers wetter areas than Scaly-breasted Munia. Gives soft pipping and clinking notes; song includes quiet slurred whistles and bill clicks. Native to southeastern Asia, but introduced to numerous areas including the Hawaiian Islands, Japan, Ecuador, and Jamaica. ๐˜ฆ๐˜‰๐˜ช๐˜ณ๐˜ฅ

The blue-tailed bee-eater is a bee-eater species mostly seen in open habitats close to water. It is widely distributed across South and Southeast Asia where many populations are strongly migratory, and seen seasonally in many parts but breeding colonially in small areas across their range, mostly in river valleys, where they nest by tunneling into loamy sand banks.

Handsome bird which looks like a slender thrush. Black-and-white male is distinctive, with a white brow, extensive white wing patches, and clean white underparts. Female and juvenile are grungier-looking, with gray-brown replacing much of the black and rather dingy, dirty-looking underparts. Inhabits lowland and foothill forests, parks, and gardens. Contrary to its name, this bird does not usually trill; rather, it gives a range of low notes, particularly a nasal โ€œchecka-checkuhโ€ and a rapid series of rattling, clacking, or whistled notes.

The mangrove blue flycatcher is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae. It is native to Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Thailand. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical mangrove forests. Clements splits the Kalao blue flycatcher, Cyornis kalaoensis into a distinct species. The IOC still lists it as a subspecies of the mangrove blue flycatcher.

The Arctic warbler is a widespread leaf warbler in birch or mixed birch forest near water throughout its breeding range in Fennoscandia and the northern Palearctic. It has established a foothold in North America, breeding in Alaska. This warbler is strongly migratory; the entire population winters in southeast Asia. It therefore has one of the longest migrations of any Old World insectivorous bird.

Large owl with an orange face and big inky-black eyes. Adult is brown with extensive thin barring on the underparts. Juvenile is whitish, with barring all over the body. The closely related Brown Wood-Owl is much darker in adult plumage, with a thinly barred brown breast, and its juvenile plumage is whiter, relatively unmarked, with a more contrastingly dark brown face. Spotted Wood-Owl prefers open forests, and can sometimes be seen on fairly conspicuous perches, even when roosting. Hoots loudly and sonorously, with pairs frequently duetting.

Chestnut-breasted Malkoha is a species of cuckoo in the family Cuculidae. Found in Southeast Asia from Myanmar through to eastern Java, the Philippines and Borneo, it is a large cuckoo measuring up to 49 cm (19 in) with grey and dark green upperparts and chestnut underparts, and a large curved pale upper mandible. The male and female are similar in plumage. Unlike many cuckoos, it builds its nest and raises its own young.
