Discover the majestic “The Ruins” in Talisay City, Negros Occidental!
The Ruins was built in the 1900s by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson in memory of his wife Maria Braga. However, it was tragically burned during World War II to prevent it from being used as a Japanese military headquarters.
Despite the destruction, the Ruins’ beauty remains a popular tourist destination for its picturesque scenery. It displays grandeur through its Italianate architecture, intricate designs and lush surroundings. Its existence is a reminder of Negros’ rich heritage.
May it be ruined from the past, but it standstill to depict resiliency and grandeur.
How to get there?
From BREDCO port in Bacolod City:
Option 1: Book via GrabCar to travel directly to The Ruins.
The fare for Grab will most probably range from 240-265 pesos.
Option 2: Ride a tricycle to SM City Bacolod, take a Bata-Libertad modern jeepney and ask to be dropped at the Pepsi Bottling Plant. There, you can ride a tricycle to take you directly to The Ruins.
Fare for these are as follows:
Tricycle from BREDCO-SM ranges between 50-100 pesos;
Bata-Libertad modern Jeepney rangers between 15-30 pesos; and
Tricycle or book a grab-car from Pepsi Bottling Plant to the Ruins ranges between 150 pesos.
