AANGAT ANG IMUS! 🇵🇭
For the first time in Cities: Skylines 2, a full-scale replica of a Philippine city is now available at Paradox Mods!
Imus City (formerly Cavite ej Viejo) is a first-class component city in the Province of Cavite, which also serves as the province's capital city. The city of Imus used to be part of Cavite el Viejo, which is now known as the municipality of Kawit. In 1762, a parish church was established in baranggay now known as Bayan Luma. The church was destroyed by a typhoon in September of 1776. Recollect Friars then transferred the church to Toclong and finally to sitio de Balangon, now known as the city plaza of Imus.
In 1774, Recollect Fr. Pedro San Buenaventura petitioned the government to separate the inquilinos of Imus from the political jurisdiction of the government of "Cavite el Viejo." The petition was later granted, and Imus became an independent municipality on October 3, 1795.
Imus City also played a huge role in gaining Philippine independence against Spanish occupation. Known as the “Flag Capital of the Philippines,” Imus earned its title through its key role in the revolution. The Battle of Imus marked one of the first major Filipino victories against Spanish forces in September 1896, strengthening the fight for independence.
Two years later, the Battle of Alapan, led by Emilio Aguinaldo, triumphed and raised the Philippine flag in victory for the first time. This historic moment forever linked Imus to the birth of the nation’s symbol, giving rise to its enduring moniker.
Throughout the years efforts to make Imus a component city have pushed through.
Congressman Joseph Abaya, along with Congressmen Pidi Barzaga and Crispin Remulla, introduced a bill that would create the Municipality of Imus as a single legislative district. Senators B**g Revilla, Richard Gordon, and Panfilo Lacson supported the bill. The "Third District of Cavite," the only district in Imus, was created on October 22, 2009, under Republic Act 9727.
On August 3, 2010, Congressman Erineo Maliksi introduced House Bill No. 01989, which eventually became Republic Act (RA) No. 10161, to convert Imus into a city. RA 10161 was approved by 22,742 registered Imus voters in a plebiscite held on June 30, 2012, transforming the municipality into the City of Imus, a component city.
On February 17, 2025, Imus City formally became a first-class city based on the income classification of the Department of Finance under Department Order No. 074-2024.
This map covers 90% of real-life Imus, including roads; barangay names & boundaries; schools (including names); and government offices. This version of Imus includes proper sidewalks, dedicated bike lanes, parks, heritage sites, and integrated public transport through Imus Bus. I also include planned and ongoing infrastructure projects in the city.
I also include the right of way for the LRT 1 Cavite extension (Aguinaldo line) and tram line along the Daang Hari corridor.
The map is 90% complete, however I'm still figuring out how to upload it to Paradox mod because uploading a game map has a 100 asset mod limit. I'm still deciding which mod to delete before releasing it.
