Traded the mainland for the northern frontier.

Way off the usual routes, this part of the Philippines feels like a completely different world.

It's quite pricey to make the trip, but if you get the chance, go at least once in your lifetime and you’ll be able to see a side of the country you've never encountered before. 🇵🇭

Northbound, always ⛰️

No matter how many times we drive around the Cordilleras, there’s always something new to see. We’re nowhere near done exploring, and we hope you come along for the ride through our photos.

Here are a few snapshots from past road trips.

Along for more than just the ride! 🤳

Lately, the realme 16T has been with us on some of our recent lakwatsa, while the rainy season gave us mostly grey skies and wet roads, with a few doses of sunlight in between.

But the IP69 Pro dust and water resistance came in handy with the changing weather, while the 6.8-inch 144Hz display gave us plenty of room to frame our shots.

We got to use it through both, so here’s a closer look at it in hand, out on the road, and a few shots we took along the way! :)

Going through these again makes us grateful for how much of the 🇵🇭 we’ve gotten to explore and as mentioned by many before - to see how incredibly diverse and beautiful our country really is.

Back in the Cordilleras. ⛰️

After our hike to Mt. Tenglawan, we decided to take a 2 hour drive to the other side of Bakun just to visit Tekip Falls. 😅

And we also dropped by the highest road again. 4th time already, but this was probably the best views we’ve had so far.

We brought the CabinZero PH Classic 36L and 44L with us for this lakwatsa. They worked really well as day-trip bags when moving between different locations, and were easy to carry around the whole time. 🎒

Looks like these are coming along for more lakwatsa soon.

A trip back in time. 🇵🇭

This place always been one of our favorite places to revisit. It’s huge, constantly growing, and every trip gives us something new to see or learn.

A mix of restored heritage houses and newer historically inspired structures, there’s a story & plenty of little details around every corner.

We also think they’ve done a great job keeping the old-world feel of the place while preserving the stories behind it. Even for just a day trip, it’s well worth the visit. 👋

While rainy season is ongoing, hopefully these photos may give a little visual tour - and a glimpse of the Philippines’ past.

Very blessed that road trips have taken us back to Benguet more than once.

We've lost count of how many times we've pulled over just because a spot looked too nice to pass by. A lot of our favorite photos came from those unplanned stops.

Bataan is one place that keeps surprising us.

This time, we stayed at The Duyan House at Sinagtala before and after our Tarak Ridge hike.

Entire place is peaceful - right by the mountain and surrounded by greenery - a perfect spot to slow down. 🍃

It's also a pretty spacious property, so if you're looking for a quick getaway where you can just stay in one place and unwind, we'd definitely recommend giving this one a look.

We originally came for Tarak Ridge, but we're just as glad we found this place too.
