Punizione, which translates to ‘punishment’, is a series of surreal photographs by Wanda Domingo. It portrays the different tortures the sinners went through in the epic poem Inferno by Dante Alighieri. During his travel through the nine circles of hell, he encounters several types of sinners, each going through a certain type of punishment that embodies the sin they have committed. The brutal punishments are brought to life to give recognition to sin and the suffering one has to experience for committing it.
