🌟 From borrowed clothes to graduation day — a journey of faith and perseverance. 🌟
Back in college at Holy Angel University in Angeles City, Pampanga, the odds were stacked against me. My father once said I might not be able to pursue higher education because of financial struggles. But I held on to a promise: I will find a way.
I became a working student at McDonald’s — serving customers in the morning, studying at night. With no prior work experience, I told the manager during my interview that my “training” came from home: washing dishes, cleaning floors, doing laundry, running errands, and helping at the market. I stood in line with applicants who had better résumés and nicer clothes, while I wore a borrowed polo, pants, and shoes. Yet, I was chosen. That call saying “You’re hired” was the first door that opened.
The salary wasn’t enough, so I took on multiple jobs: selling products, delivering water, driving students to field trips, modeling on weekends, and working at a video shop. Every day was a struggle, but I never complained, never compared myself to others. I believed one thing: everything is temporary, and hard work will lead to better days.
And then, one morning, I woke up to realize it was my graduation day at Holy Angel University. Tears filled my eyes as I thanked God for the strength He gave me. That moment taught me the true meaning of meritocracy — that success is not about wealth or status, but about perseverance, discipline, and faith.
💡 Just remember: no matter how heavy the burden, with determination and trust in God, you can rise above challenges. If you are struggling today, your sacrifices are seeds of tomorrow’s victories. 🌱✨
